About Me

About Me

Hey, I’m Sam, a tattoo artist who’s been chasing creativity for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I dreamed of becoming either an artist or a vet, something that combined imagination and care.

Outside of tattooing, I love spending time with my two pets, a dog called Bertie and cat called Cleo. I’m passionate about fossils, history, science, and wandering through museums, anywhere curiosity can roam. I also enjoy spending time in nature, where I find space to recharge and draw fresh inspiration.

I started my tattoo adventure in February 2016, and over the years it’s become more than a job, it’s a passion and a calling.

My journey began with an apprenticeship at Black Dragon Tattoos in Caernarfon, Wales. Since then, I’ve worked in various studios, with most of my career rooted in Liverpool.

I specialise in blackwork traditional, and I love creating bold, timeless tattoos with a personal edge. I also work in dotwork, and I'm drawn to neo-traditional and colour pieces. While I honour the roots of traditional tattooing, I enjoy putting my own spin on the classics, giving each piece a unique touch that reflects both history and individuality.

I’ve tattooed at a range of conventions, including:

Blackpool, Telford, Manchester, Cheshire & York amongst others.

A proud highlight of my journey was placing 3rd in the Apprentice at the Blackpool Tattoo Convention.

Influences & Inspiration

My biggest artistic influence has always been my Grandad, a talented painter who encouraged my creativity from an early age. I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I remember sitting with him as a kid watching Miami Ink, fascinated by the stories, the art, and the people behind the machines. He always believed in my creativity, and I try to carry on his legacy in my work today. Tattooing is my way of honouring him and the creative spirit he passed down to me.

Artistically, I’m also inspired by tattoo legends like Sailor Jerry, Bert Grimm, Lyle Tuttle, George Burchett, Ben Corday amongst others. I can’t forget to mention Maud Wagner. Maud holds a special place in tattoo history as the first known female tattooer, she lit the flame for women in what was once a male-dominated craft.

Tattooing means the world to me, and I’m truly grateful for every person who trusts me with their skin and their stories. I’m always excited to take on new projects and bring fresh ideas to life, whether you’ve got a fully-formed concept or just a spark of inspiration.

I can’t wait to hear your ideas and create something meaningful together. Let’s make something you’ll be proud to wear forever.
